Adah Sharma, who is currently riding high on her success in the film “Kerala Story,” has joined the cast of the upcoming thriller “The Game of Girgit,” starring Shreyas Talpade. In the film, Adah will play a cop who is investigating an online game that prompts users to harm themselves and others. The movie, directed by Vishal Pandya, is based on real events and sheds light on the negative influence of online games and apps on young people.
Adah’s character in the movie finds her close friends becoming victims of an app developed by Shreyas’s character, which sets a series of tasks leading to self-harm or harm to others. After the tragedy, she takes it upon herself to protect vulnerable children from accessing the app.
In an interview, Adah explained the premise of the film and her role, saying, “The film chronicles how an online game based on the Blue Whale challenge is harming people. It sets a series of tasks, leading to self-harm or harming someone else once one has taken the assignment there is no way out. I’m tasked with solving the case.” She further elaborated that the film has a powerful message that aims to reach out to young audiences and raise awareness about the dangers of such apps.
Shreyas, who plays a pivotal role in the film, also shared his thoughts on the project. He said, “The plot of The Game of Girgit is extremely interesting. That’s why I wanted to be associated with the project. The thriller also has a powerful message that we strongly feel should reach the audiences, especially kids and youngsters of the nation.”
